Plain floors and LED floors in one fleet
A plain floor is a set of plastic panels with a printed top that lock together, finished with edge ramps. An LED floor is a set of complete lit panels under a hard clear top, with the patterns run from a controller. Some fleets lay a few LED panels into a plain floor, so the two have to lock together and sit level.
A floor under a tent
A dance floor laid under a party tent takes part of the tent's floor area, and the fire code official decides how that part is counted. The tent sizes guide works through it.
Before you ask
The spec sheet for a fleet of dance floors
Every floor in an order is built to one sheet. These are the choices on it, and the quote form asks for the same things.
Floor sizes and how many
The floor sizes you book most, and how many of each, so the panels, edges and corners are counted floor by floor.
Panel and lock
The panel size and the way the panels lock, matched to any floor you own if the two have to mix.
The top
The printed look, matte or gloss, and whether the floor goes indoors or out. Judge it on a sample panel, in the shoes people dance in.
Edges and corners
Edge ramps on every open side and outside corners where they meet, in the colour you want.
LED or plain
How many LED panels, their colours and patterns, and what your venues will ask about power and paperwork. Those are settled for each order.
Storage and transport
Carts or cases for each floor, and the truck, the door and the store room they have to fit.
Dance floors in a rental fleet
Floors usually join a rental fleet after tents, tables and chairs. The guide sets out what a new rental business buys first and how a container order works.
Price
What sets the price of an LED or portable dance floor
We do not publish a price per panel. A fleet order turns on plain or LED, the panel count, the top, the edges and where the floors land, so you get a landed cost, line by line.
Plain or LED
A plain panel is a printed top on a plastic base. An LED panel carries its lights, its clear top and its connections, so it costs more per panel and is quoted on its own lines.
How many floors, and which sizes
The panel count comes from the floor sizes you book and how many of each, with the edges and corners each floor needs.
The top
A plain colour, a wood look, marble or a checkerboard, matte or gloss. A printed pattern of your own adds a setup step.
Matching a floor you own
New panels that have to lock into an older fleet are made to its lock and its thickness, which can mean new tooling at the factory.
Carts, cases and spares
Carts or cases for each floor, and any spare panels, edges and corners shipped with the order.
Landing at your yard
Inland freight to the port in China, ocean freight, the customs entry, the broker and trucking from the port are priced on your exact floors, each on its own line.
Itemised on the quote, hidden in a unit price
- Trucking from the factory to the port in China
- The customs entry and the broker's charges
- Drayage from the port, and a forklift or a dock to unload the pallets
- Spare panels, edges and corners, if you want them shipped with the fleet
Timing
The date is set on your order
We do not publish a production window for this product. It depends on your specification and the quantity, so the date comes with the first reply, and the calendar for your order is built from that date and the ocean transit on your lane.
How the date is set
We build these to the specification you send, so we set the date with you.
- Tell us the specification, the quantity and the date you need them.
- We confirm the specification and the production date with the factory.
- The landed quote follows, itemised line by line.
What goes wrong
What goes wrong with dance floor panels, and what we check
Before we quote an LED floor, we ask what your venues, their insurers and the fire code official will want to see, and settle with you how the floor is powered and controlled.
Common failures
- New panels that will not lock into the fleet's old ones
- A floor that arrives short of edge ramps or corners
- A top that scuffs or feels wrong under dance shoes, found at the first event instead of on a sample
- LED panels that arrive before anyone has answered the venue's questions about them
Buyer mistakes
- Choosing a top from a photo without walking on a sample panel
- Counting the panels for a floor and forgetting its edges and corners
- Ordering carts that will not fit the truck, the venue's door or the store room
- Mixing new panels into an old fleet without checking the lock first
Inspection checklist
- A sample panel walked on, and locked against a panel from your fleet if the floors must mix, before the run
- The tops checked against the signed-off sample: the print, the finish and the edges
- A floor of each size put together at the factory, where the order calls for it, to check every lock
- LED panels lit and run through their patterns before they are packed
- Edges, corners and carts counted for each floor against its packing list

How it gets to you
- Shipped by sea from China, the panels stacked on pallets floor by floor with their edges, corners and carts
- A licensed broker files the customs entry when the container lands, and who is importer of record is worked out with each customer
- Trucked to your yard or venue; the pallets need a forklift or a dock
Each step of the landing is priced on your floors and set out on the quote. How that works Add up a landed cost
What we do on an order like this
- We confirm the floors you describe with the factory, and the date, before you commit.
- Each panel's top, its core and its edges are written into the spec sheet, and a sample panel comes to you to walk on before the run.
- If the new panels have to mix with a floor you own, the sample is locked against one of your panels first.
- We check the panels at the factory against the spec sheet you signed off, then import the floors and deliver them to you.
Questions
Asked about portable and LED dance floors
How much does an LED dance floor cost?
It depends on whether the floor is plain or LED, how many panels it takes, the top, the edges and corners, the carts or cases, the ocean freight and the customs entry. LED panels cost more than plain ones, so a floor can be part LED and part plain. The quote gives each of those its own line.
Portable or LED: which should a rental fleet buy?
Plain panels are the floor a rental company books every weekend: under tents, at weddings, in halls. An LED floor books less often and for more, at club nights, corporate parties and with DJs. A fleet can start with plain floors in the sizes it books most and add LED panels when customers ask for them. Tell us what you book and we quote both.
Can new panels lock into the dance floor we already own?
They can be made to. Send a panel from your fleet, or photos of its lock and edge with a measurement, and a photo of the top. The factory matches the lock, the thickness and the look, and a sample panel is locked against yours. Nothing goes into production until you sign the sample off.
Can a portable dance floor go outside on grass?
Yes, if the ground under it is flat and firm, which a lawn often is not. Rental crews level the ground or lay the panels on a firm base before the floor goes down. Tell us where the floor will go most often, indoors, on grass, on a patio or on a deck, so the top and the lock are chosen for it, and leave a sample panel outside before the run.
Where can I buy dance floors for sale in bulk?
Dance floors for sale online are mostly sold one kit at a time from a US warehouse, which suits a venue that needs one floor soon. A factory order suits a rental company or a venue group buying several floors to one spec sheet. That is the order we run: you send the floor sizes, the tops and how many, and we come back with the date and the landed quote.
How does a fleet order of dance floors ship?
By sea from China, with the panels stacked on pallets floor by floor and each floor's edges, corners and carts packed beside it, with a packing list for every floor. We import it and deliver it to you. Who is importer of record is worked out with each customer, and the quote gives each step of the landing its own line.
What will a venue ask about an LED dance floor?
What powers the floor, how the panels connect, and what the venue, its insurer or the fire code official want to see before it goes down. We settle those with you for each order before the quote, so you have the answers before the floor ships.
